South Oakland Shelter

SOS Clip ArtThis shelter program is a movable temporary shelter for homeless men, women and children who for any number of reasons find themselves without a home.  This program provides the guests an opportunity to concentrate their efforts on finding or maintaining employment, finding affordable housing and saving funds toward independence.

In addition to providing overnight shelter, the hosts serve breakfast and dinner, pack sack lunches, provide transportation to jobs, offer companionship during the evening hours, and show the love of Christ to a group of people working to improve their life situation.

Guardian Angels co-hosts the SOS program with Clawson Methodist Church one week every year during the month of October.  This program requires many volunteers.  Volunteer sign up is held in the Narthex of our Church several weeks in September.
