December 16, 2018

In the Gospel for the second week of Advent John the Baptist proclaims a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. This week is a week that we seek to forgive and also to receive forgiveness. We all seek peace and prepare for the coming of Christ the Prince of Peace this Christmas. Forgiveness brings us to a place of peace in our lives and allows us to bring peace to others. We may have to forgive over and over again but the end result is a peaceful heart and soul that is ready and waiting for Christ.

On Wednesday, December 12 at 6:30 pm the Guardian Angels Christmas Concert features our school children bringing good cheer and glad tidings to the parish. Come and join a spirit-filled evening that will help all of us grow in the Christmas spirit.

We are all called to be Disciples of Christ and radically bring others to Christ. There are many ways of bringing the Good News to the world. Invite someone to Mass this Christmas to celebrate with us at Guardian Angels.  Many people are looking for that invitation and you can be the one to give someone a great gift of faith. There are others who are not able to make it to Mass at Christmas or who are suffering at this time of the year. Reach out and call, write, or visit someone with a message of God’s love for them this Christmas.

We will have business cards with Christmas Mass times available after all the Masses this weekend and next weekend. Take a card or two and give them to someone who you know needs a little reminder of the reason for this great season.
May you continue to have a blessed Advent season.
Peace,
Fr. Tony
