Importance of Mass Media In Church Documents

“The church has an innate right to use and own any of these media which are necessary or useful for the formation of Christians and for all of its pastoral work.   It is the duty of pastors of souls to instruct and direct the faithful in their use, so that they will contribute to their own salvation and perfection and that of all of humanity…..Because of the progress of modern society and the increasing mutual interdependence of its members, it is clear that information is most useful and, very often, indispensable. If news of facts and happenings is made public without delay, everyone will have constant access to sufficient information and thus will be able to contribute effectively to the common good. Further, it will be easier for everyone to contribute to the prosperity and the progress of society as a whole.”
