The Sacrament of Baptism is especially important to the life of a Catholic Christian because it purifies the person from original sin and gives him/her new life in the Holy Spirit. Through baptism we become a member of the Body of Christ, the Church, which means that baptized Christians share God’s divine life. Sharing in God’s divine life enables the baptized disciple to overcome sin and become holy as God is holy.
Baptisms are usually celebrated on Saturdays during the 4:30 pm Mass. Baptisms are celebrated throughout the Church year except during the Lenten Season.
