Music Ministry

Welcome!

Music at Guardian Angels is vibrant, joyful, upbeat, and prayerful. Active participation in the liturgy is a hallmark of our parish community—something we feel compelled to do in praise and thanksgiving to our Lord! Our music ministry is open to all parishioners of Confirmation age or older. We hope you will consider offering your talent and skill as a member of our music ministry. Below, please find information about how to get involved. If you have any questions or general interest queries, please contact our Director of Music Ministry by phone or email. We look forward to hearing from you! “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth!”–Psalm 98

Sunday Choir

Our Sunday Choir rehearses and prepares music for the 11 A.M. Mass as well as some holy days and feast days. Rehearsals take place Sunday mornings at 10:15 in the church, and the choir season runs from Labor Day through Memorial Day. We welcome anyone who loves singing to join us in preparing a diverse blend of liturgical music spanning contemporary, folk, and traditional. There is no audition for singers–only a desire to sing and make joyful music for the Lord! There are also opportunities for instrumentalists and cantors by audition only. Please contact Dr. Matt Daniels if interested.

Saturday Vigil Mass

Music for the Saturday Vigil Mass features a rich blend of musical styles spanning contemporary, folk, and traditional. There are opportunities for cantors, small-group singers, and instrumentalists. In addition to Saturdays, this group also provides music for some holy days and feast days. Anyone interested in participating in music ministry on Saturdays should contact our Associate Music Minister, Mary Ellen Bross, at the parish office (248) 585-1222 or after the 4:30 P.M. Saturday liturgy.
