Matt Daniels was born and raised in Fort Pierce, FL. He has been actively involved in parish music ministry since 16 years of age and has directed Catholic high school and church music programs in Michigan, Louisiana, and Florida. He is currently Director of Music and Liturgy at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, and he is on the voice faculties of Madonna University, the University of Michigan-Flint, and Eastern Michigan University. He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Louisiana State University and is actively involved in research projects and presentations outside of teaching and music ministry. He began composing contemporary sacred music in 2003 and enjoys an ongoing relationship with International Liturgy Publications in Nashville. Recent and forthcoming recording projects for ILP Music include the following: Mass of Joyful Priase, Daniels’ contemporary Mass setting for 3-part voices, and keyboard, guitar, or praise band; Psalms of Praise, a collection of 12 comtemporary Psalm settings for liturgical use; and a contemporary setting of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
